Shipping & delivery

How long will it take to receive my order?

We prepare and ship your order within 24-48 working hours. From there the express courier delivers within 48/72h throughout Italy. Shipping is free from €39.90; for orders below this threshold it costs €4.99. As soon as the parcel leaves our workshop you'll receive an email with the link to track it.

For some remote areas (minor islands, Venice lagoon, Livigno, Campione d'Italia) a small surcharge may apply, always shown at checkout.

How do I track my order?

Yes. As soon as your order ships we send you an email with the tracking link, to follow your parcel every step of the way. If you can't find it, check your spam folder or write to info@ciokarrua.it and we'll track it for you.

How does the summer insulated packaging work?

From June to September every order travels in insulated packaging with cold packs, included in the price, to protect the chocolate from the heat. In the same period we ship only Monday to Wednesday, so the parcel never sits in a depot over the weekend and always arrives fresh.

On which days do you ship in summer?

From June to September we ship only on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We avoid Thursdays and Fridays so your parcel doesn't sit in a depot over the weekend in the heat: it leaves early in the week, travels in thermal packaging with synthetic ice and always arrives fresh. Orders placed from Thursday to Sunday are dispatched the following Monday.

Do you ship abroad?

Yes, we deliver throughout the European Union: times and costs vary by country and are shown at checkout, with free shipping from €150; for orders below this threshold it costs €19.90. For now we do not ship to the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Russia and non-EU countries, due to customs complexity and the difficulty of keeping the cold chain. For special requests write to info@ciokarrua.it.

My parcel arrived damaged. What should I do?

Write to us within 48 hours of delivery by filling in the form on the Returns page (or by email to info@ciokarrua.it) and attach a few photos of the product and the parcel: we'll sort it out with a replacement or a refund.

Orders, payments & invoicing

Do I need to register to place an order?

No, you can also buy as a guest: you just need the details for shipping and invoicing, without creating an account. If you prefer to register, you'll keep your order history and speed up future purchases.

How do I use a discount code?

Enter the code in the dedicated field in the cart (or at checkout): the discount is applied to the total straight away, before payment. One code per order, not combinable with other promotions.

Which payment methods do you accept?

You can pay by card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express), PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay. Payments are secure and your card details are never stored by us.

Can I pay cash on delivery?

Yes: cash on delivery is available — you pay in cash directly to the courier on delivery. Alternatively you can pay online by card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Shop Pay.

Can I request an invoice with a VAT number and SDI code?

Yes. During checkout, right in the cart, you can request an invoice by entering your company name, VAT number and SDI code (or PEC): we automatically issue an electronic invoice and send it to the SDI. If you notice afterwards, write to us within 24 hours of the order.

Storage & shelf life

How should I store chocolate and spreads?

Keep the chocolate in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and heat sources (around 14-18 °C). Avoid the fridge: thermal shock alters its aroma and texture and encourages white bloom on the surface. After opening, reseal the pack well, as it protects the chocolate from oxidation.

Once opened, spreads should be kept in a cool pantry — not in the fridge, where they harden — and eaten within 2-3 weeks.

How long do the products last?

Each product shows its best-before date on the label. In general: bars and Modica IGP Chocolate last about 18 months, spreads and carob flours 12 months, sweets 10 months, and carob extract up to 24 months.

What are the white streaks on the surface of the bar?

It's the cocoa butter bloom (fat bloom): a completely natural and harmless phenomenon caused by temperature swings, where the cocoa fats migrate to the surface creating a pale veil. It changes neither the flavour nor the safety of the product.

Returns & refunds

I changed my mind: can I return a product?

Of course. You have 14 days from delivery to exercise your right of withdrawal, i.e. to return a product if you change your mind (Italian Consumer Code). As these are food products, by law we can only accept them if intact, sealed and never opened.

Fill in the form on the Returns page: we'll reply within 24 hours with instructions. Return shipping is at your expense and the refund arrives within 14 days of receiving the return.

Did you receive a damaged parcel instead? In that case we'll take care of it: see «My parcel arrived damaged».
